Financial Outcomes after Divorce…

There is much news interest in the cases of McFarland and Miller which were recently decided at House of Lords level and dealt with important issues such as ongoing maintenance for spouses, lump sums, reasonable expectation, the significance of one party’s conduct.  Contact us to discuss the impact of these cases and the possibility of entering into Pre nuptial agreements

Data Protection

Non –Compliance with DPA is a criminal offence…On the other hand the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act provide excellent methods for obtaining information at a very early stage before expensive proceedings are entered into.

Civil Partnerships

Change in legislation has brought about new rights for civil partners registered as such. It has also imposed a method akin to divorce for sorting out property on the breakdown of the relationship.
